People often come to therapy at times in their lives when they
feel lost, distraught, or overwhelmed. During such times,
many of us feel called to slow down and look within. Psychotherapy
provides such an opportunity. It is an invitation to step
out of our busy lives and attend to our souls — to discover
what is in need of healing, and what we are longing to grow into.
Clients that I work with typically come in wanting to live a
more meaningful and inspired life. Many arrive feeling
depressed or confused, often finding themselves repeating self-destructive
patterns without understanding why. Some struggle with
a lack of confidence or difficulties in their relationships,
while others are undergoing a challenging life transition, grieving
a loss, or experiencing the aftermath of a trauma. I truly
believe that no matter what brings you into therapy, the pain
you are now experiencing can ultimately serve your growth and
unfolding.
What I offer you is a warm and supportive relationship where
it is safe to be real…a space where you can show up with
all of your fear and all of your pain, knowing that I won’t
mistake you for your wounds. I can help you navigate the
places where you feel stuck or overwhelmed, gather new resources,
and connect with the wisdom that already resides within you.
My approach to psychotherapy integrates psychodynamic, transpersonal,
and somatic ways of working (which, in everyday English, means
that I take a holistic approach that honors the body, mind, and
spirit). My work is also influenced by Buddhist and Native
American perspectives on healing and growth. I have a deep
love for the sacred journey of psychotherapy that began with
my own years of inner work as a client. My practice of
therapy is enriched by my own intimate knowledge of the territory,
as well as my professional background in working with survivors
of abuse.
